What is Cold Draw Pipe?

Cold draw steel pipe is pulled hot rolled seamless tube at room temperature. It is stretched through the pipe die pore and reach products required diameter and wall thickness. The tube is pulled and squeezed at the same time. The yield point of low carbon steel pipe can be increased by 40% to 60%.

Drawing is the main method to product pipes with thin wall, very thin wall as well as large-diameter and thin wall. Cold draw pipe advantages are high dimensional accuracy, surface roughness, more complete varieties and specifications. Mechanical properties can be improved by heat treatment.

Cold Draw Process
